Privacy notice
Last updated October 2026
This notice explains what happens to the details you give me when you get in touch, and what your rights are. I keep it short because I collect very little.
Who I am
Halesowen Home and Garden Services is run by Wayne Smith, a sole trader based in Halesowen. I'm responsible for your information.
Contact me at wayne@halesowenhgs.co.uk or on 07721 373676.
What I collect
When you use the enquiry form, phone, email or WhatsApp me, I may get:
- your name, phone number and email address
- your postcode or address, so I know where the job is
- what the job is, and any photos you send
- whether you've asked for the pensioner discount, or for Riley to stay in the van
If I do work for you, I'll also keep the quote, invoice and payment records.
Why I use it
- To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote. You've asked me to, and I need the details to do it.
- To arrange and carry out the work, and to invoice you.
- To keep business and tax records, which the law requires.
I don't send marketing, I don't sell your details and I don't share them with anyone except the services listed below.
Services that handle your details
- Cloudflare hosts this website and runs the enquiry form. Its Turnstile service checks the form isn't being sent by a spam bot, which involves looking at details of your browser and device. It may process data outside the UK under approved safeguards.
- Resend sends enquiries from the form to my inbox, and Zoho provides my email. Both may process data outside the UK under approved safeguards.
- WhatsApp (Meta), if you choose to message me there.
- Google Fonts and OpenStreetMap supply the text styles and the map on this site. Your browser contacts them directly, which shares your IP address with them.
How long I keep it
- Enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted after 12 months.
- Records for jobs I've done are kept for 6 years, because HMRC requires them.
Cookies
This site doesn't set any cookies and doesn't use tracking or advertising tools.
Your rights
You can ask me for a copy of the information I hold about you, or ask me to correct or delete it. Email or call me and I'll deal with it within a month.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
